1) IIABA seeks open dialogue on federal regulation issue - Bob Rusbuldt, CEO of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America, sent a letter late last week to Dick Armey, chairman of FreedomWorks, regarding that organization?s support of the National Insurance Act of 2006, which would create a federal regulator for the insurance industry. IIABA opposes federal regulation, and Mr. Rusbuldt?s letter expressed disappointment that FreedomWorks had embraced ?the creation of a massive new federal bureaucracy.?
